Nonstick Baking Weights (Ceramic Beans)

A set of food-safe ceramic baking beans used for blind-baking pastry cases: spread across a parchment-lined shell before baking to hold the base flat and prevent the sides from collapsing while the pastry sets and cooks through. Ceramic beans conduct heat evenly throughout the shell and can be reused indefinitely, making them more cost-effective over time than dried pulses. Suited to home bakers making tarts, quiches, and blind-baked pie shells. After removing from the oven, the beans will be very hot; allow them to cool completely before handling.
